Cartoons are stereotypically regarded as naive and childish, but in fact, cartoons can be mature and philosophical as well. Take Rick and Morty and Bojack Horseman as examples, beside the elements like violence and sex involved, the notions which the author want to convey are hard to understand even for adults, and this is why I want to introduce these two cartoons. Maybe you will be more interested on cartoons after reading my introduction😏😏
🎈Rick and Morty
Rick and Morty is the top 10 series on the imdb ranking. What does that mean? It means that Rick and Morty can be compared with works like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and The Wire. If you are a sci-fiction fan, you can't miss Rick and Morty because the story includes lots of sci-fi elements.
The most famous quote in Rick and Morty. |
The story is about the adventure of a crazy scientist, Rick, and his silly grandson, Morty. In addition to the thrilling plot and the vivid character, the main trait of Rick and Morty is the philosophical idea. Eugene Thacker's and H.P. Lovecraft's philosophical idea are usually used in the plot, and I think the main concept is that every person is small and doesn't matter. All in all, when you watch Rick and Morty, you will think of your purpose of your life, but it ends up that you live with no purpose.
🎈Bojack Horseman
In this cartoon, you will see humanity is complicated, and maybe you will also see parts of you from the characters in it. Though Bojack Horseman is a really sad story, but it makes you reflect on your attitude to life.
Actually, I can talk about these two cartoons for 3 days since there are too many issues can be discussed. Maybe you can watch it and talk about it with me next time😎😎
I'm also a big fan of adult cartoons! These cartoons usually deliver some really negative thoughts that adults find them humorous and relatable. I've been planning to watch Rick and Monty after I finish watching Regular Show, which is also another awesome adult cartoon. However, ever since that 123kubo shut down their website, it's becoming much more inconvenient for me to enjoy all these cartoons and TV series. Maybe you can introduce some safe while convenient website to me?:>
回覆刪除You remind me of another cartoon for "adult only" called "Happy Tree Friends(開心樹朋友)". For me, that's the weirdest cartoon I had even seen in my life. When I was in the elementary school, my friend brought it to the school and play it during lunch because the cover paper of the CD looks pretty and the characters are super cute. Then everything turned out to be bloody and violent, and even now I still don't get the meaning behind the story.
回覆刪除To be honest with you, I’m a big fan of cartoons. I think I’ve seen the characters from the cartoons you introduced this time on the Internet. (Maybe on 9gag or something like that) After your introduction, I want to spare my time to watch these cartoons. Btw, can I find the complete episodes on YouTube or there are other websites?
